Could you not watch an hour with Me?
Every First Friday we have the privilege of Eucharistic Adoration at St. John’s from after the 8am Mass until Benediction at 7pm. The Blessed Sacrament is exposed for silent prayer and adoration during that time. All are welcome to come for as long or as short a visit as you can – but we need at least two people to commit to each hour of Adoration. Because of recent deaths and parishioners moving away, we’ve been having a difficult time filling all the hours. Would you consider committing to an hour of Adoration each First Friday? In doing so, you are not only spending time with the Lord, you are also making it possible for other parishioners to come and go. You are answering Jesus’ invitation to come to a quiet place with Him to pray and actively serving your brothers and sisters who cannot commit to an hour. The sign up sheet is in the back of the church the week before First Friday, or you can call the parish office to sign up. We especially need people for the afternoon hours.
As you may have noticed, there are many masses that go by with no intention. If you wish to sponsor one for a relative or friend, living or deceased, please call the office at 845-838-0915, and we can get it in. It obviously won’t be in an already published bulletin, but it will be announced at Mass. You might consider an upcoming birthday or anniversary – celebrate with Jesus at a Mass just for you! Remember all the students facing mid-term exams. Say thank you because a loved one recovered from covid. Maybe just bring Jesus and the Eucharist to a more prominent place in your life.

Mask Protocol!
We have noticed recently that not all of us are wearing our masks correctly. Unfortunately, we must insist that masks completely cover the nose and mouth at all times. Remember, mouth and nose MUST be covered.
As many parishioners are aware, we recently suffered the destruction of the crucifix and some of the statues located in our cemetery. We have been fortunate to have the replacement & repair costs covered by our insurance, but the downside is that they are now requiring us to lock the cemetery every evening.
Effective Sunday Sept. 27, 2020, we will be locking the gate at dusk every night, and opening at 8:00 am every morning. We have also installed security cameras.
WELCOME BACK!!!
We are looking forward to welcoming our parish family back for Sunday Masses this weekend, June 20/21st. To help you navigate a few changes here’s a sneak peak at the seating layout of both churches and what to expect when you arrive.
Seating:
Please sit in open/green marked pews ONLY. Please sit on either side of the open pew, leaving center blue marked area open = 6 feet! That’s about 3 adults per side. Do not sit in the center of the pew.
IMPORTANT PLEASE come to Mass as family units, if you split up we can then only sit 1-2 people on either side of the pew and we lose capacity. Sit only with those you LIVE with. We know, we all miss each other but it’s just for a little while. Remember we only have 25% capacity at the moment. Please help us. We will have double Masses in the lower hall at St. John’s and the gym at St. Joachim’s for overflow.
Front pews are reserved for those with mobility restrictions that need the elevator.
Distribution of Holy Communion:
DAILY MASS: Please stand on the red markings on the isle = 6 feet apart.
SUNDAY MASS: Please stay in your pew, the Priest will come to you. Keep your masks on until it’s time to receive. Please receive reverently in your hand only.
Exiting:
Please exit the church from the rear toward the front. Being considerate of those waiting in the pews. We have to limit lines at the door to exit. We appreciate your patience.
Also, for Sunday Masses, Ushers will be helping you to your seats when you arrive. Please be patient and check in with ushers for seating assistance.
We’ve tried to make this as easy as possible. Any questions comment below we’d be happy to clarify. Please share with others and help us spread the word.
And remember....this is only temporary. Welcome back!
